Plot Summary

A historical drama about a miller living in north-east Italy in the late 1500s who was accused of heresy by the Catholic Inquisition. Menocchio (Domenico Scandella, 1532-1599) stuck to his convictions and defied those in power, and paid a heavy price for it.
