Plot Summary

Malmö, Sweden, 1962. With his expectant mother in the maternity ward and his father juggling work and house responsibilities, 6-year-old Arild can't help but feel neglected. After all, today is his birthday, the most significant event of the year. But a parent never forgets. And beyond grown-ups' worries and problems lies the serene, picturesque Sibbarp. Now, instead of a cake and a present, the boy is about to receive something money can't buy. In the end, isn't unexpected kindness what unadulterated love is all about?
